Cinco De Mayo

This Cinco De Mayo was spent a little differently than in the past. It was different because we both GRADUATED from Utah State! Yaaaay! We have both been working at this for years, and we finally did it. It was even better because we got to graduate together! Jacqui graduated with a degree in Dietetics, and Lindsay graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. We are so proud of ourselves and each other for making it here. We never thought this day would come. We celebrated with our families and friends. And our old roommate from Year One came and took pictures for us, Arteuscher Photo's style! Pro-Pho's!

We did it!!!!

We may have finished our time at Utah State, and our time as roommates will be over... But there is a lot more ahead of us, many adventures to be had.... best friends forever!!

A little walk down memory lane...

We decided that we should visit some of our favorite spots before we left Logan. Mainly concerning our Taco Tuesday traditions! We will miss Tuesdays, but thanks to this post we can hold them in our hearts forever!!

Taco Tuesday at Cafe Rio
$1.50 tacos.

Cafe Rio at Chick-Fil-A
Buy one get one free combo meals.

We spent a lot of our Tuesdays at these two places. They fed us well and kept us happy while in college!

Sleepover!!

We decided that we should have a sleepover on our last night living together as roommates. One of our favorite activities is to drag our mattresses into the living room, make a giant bed and have a sleepover! We got treats, sparkling cider, and rented a movie. We were set for our sleepover! Some of our roommates even decided to make a guest appearance!

 Toast!

 Roommate sandwich!!

 Roommate sandwich + 1 roommate!

 Roommate sandwich + some non-roommates!!

We found the bums from redbox asleep in our beds..

 Yaaay for sleepovers!

 Jacqsay = Super Heroes!

No, that face was not planned.
We realized we made the same exact face after the picture was taken.
We're twins, what can we say?

All tuckered out after our big night!

OMG! Congrats! Graduation.

On Friday December 9th, 2011 I (Lindsay-sorry, this post is mainly going to be about me) finished my last day of my college career! I graduated - after 6 years of school (so maybe I took my time) and lots of hard work. I finished my last day of student teaching on December 8th, and then filled out some paperwork on the 9th and now I am just waiting for my degree to post. It's finals week now, and its crazy that for the first time I have nothing to worry about or do this week. Jacqui is busy getting ready for her finals, and I am just hanging out. Its so weird!

So lets back up a bit. This semester has been a lot of work. I student taught in a fourth grade classroom, and then in a Kindergarten classroom. I got to take over the fourth grade class completely by myself for about four weeks! I definitely learned a lot of lessons on what it is really like to be a teacher. It's definitely not the fluffy job that a lot of people imagine! But it was a great semester and I feel like I learned a lot. I learned a lot about myself and about my students as well! I will miss those kids. Luckily they gave me quite a few souvineers to remember them by.

On my last day of student teaching I came home, feeling a little bit sad and a little bit happy to be done. Jacqui was out of town for her brothers wedding (congrats Liz and Matt!!) and so I came home to an empty room. Imagine my surprise when I opened the bedroom door to find this:

She had to pull some tricks to get that in our bedroom while in a different city. So basically I have the best roommate/best friend in the world! It was the best way to end my last day of student teaching. Thank you again Jacqui! I am still trying to figure out a way to preserve the balloon and keep the giant card. (My family also surprised me with a decorated bedroom at home, and some really great surprises!)

On Friday I went up to campus and filled out some surveys and paperwork. It was fun to be reunited with a few of my friends that I have been going through the program with, as well as new friends that I met this year. It's crazy to think that I met some of my very best friends in this program, I guess I was just meant to be here! After we were done with our surveys and officially done with school my good friend Becca and I decided to celebrate at our favorite place in Logan.... Temptation Cupcakes. Normally I would take a picture of an event like this, but I think we were just way too excited to be done with school and to be eating cupcakes that I spaced it. We sat in our favorite little cupcake shop for over two hours, and enjoyed the hot sun coming in through the windows. I don't think my college career could have ended so perfectly!

Now I just have to wait for my degree to post, walk during the graduation ceremony in the Spring, and figure out what to do next in life.

Jacqui will be starting her final semester in January, and then we will be able to walk at graduation together! Which will be so great.

Thanks USU for the past four years, the great education program, the opportunities I have had, and the amazing friends that I have made! It really has been so great, I have been so lucky to have this opportunity, and I'm sad to see it end!

Christmas time!

It's no surprise any more that at Christmas time we like to dress up, take pictures, and send out a Christmas card to all of our loved ones. Every year, when Christmas is over we usually start brainstorming our next Christmas card. We take this seriously, along with Halloween costumes. This year we decided that we would find huge boxes that we could fit in, wrap them, wear bows on our heads and be presents! We know that we would be the best present anyone could recieve under their Christmas tree ;)
We always invite our roommates to participate in our Christmas card, the more the merrier (it is Christmas after all), and this year Misha was the only one willing to dress up with us!

Jacqui, Misha, Lindsay
Cute presents under a cute little tree :)

Merry Christmas
We look very angelic!

hmmm

We have to have at least one awkward picture...
And its no surprise that we are both wearing mis-matched socks! haha!

Always laughing

This picture is proof for all of you who think we can't have a serious conversation.
Even while in giant boxes, with giant bows on our heads we can have a serious conversation!

Still laughing...

Trying to stand up while in boxes...

Teamwork!

Merry Christmas!!!
Love, Jacqsay

Happy Mini Thanksgiving!

It's that time of year again....time for Mini Thanksgiving!

We always look forward to this time of year, we have so many things to celebrate and be thankful for! Of course since it is the week of Thanksgiving we had to celebrate in mini style! This has been a fun tradition for us to do over the years....this is year 3 of it! So much fun.

We spent our Sunday sleeping in, going to church, and getting ready. We prepared our own mini thanksgiving (MT), just getting ready for one day when we will make our own big thanksgiving! As we waited for the baby turkey to cook in the oven we made our mini white-chocolate pudding pies! We got prepared for MT by making a pilgrim hat and a feathered indian headband. We like to dress up, and take turns being each character every year. We made homemade mashed potatoes and corn. Maybe next time Jacqui will make candied yams!

We got the table all set with our mini bowls, silverware, lunch trays, and fancy glasses. Jacqui was the pilgrim so she got to carve the baby turkey this year. The dinner was delicious, the company was great, and we made peace over dinner!

The table is all set!
