We've been busy..

This past week has been pretty eventful up here in the mountains. Lindsay went to the Dr., Jacqui went into work when she didn't have to work, twice, Lindsay passed her first physics exam, and Jacqui passed her accounting exam. But in the midst of our crazy college lives, we got back to our roots. The place that we feel most like ourselves and most comfortable. That place is playing pranks on people. We haven't played hardly any pranks this year, mostly because nobody plays them back, and its too bad. When we are playing pranks we feel normal.

So, last Saturday night we went to the USU hockey game and when we got home we didn't have anything to do. Thats when we starting looking around, and figuring out what resources we had. Our roommate Jap Jacq has like a ton of cardboard just sitting in our living room, so we knew that this could come in handy. We also had a trophy from the D.I. that Jacqui took to a party as part of a character she was playing. With the cardboard and the trophy laying around we started thinking.

We decided that we could use the trophy for a prank. A little back story on how this prank came to be.... There is this boy named Jared in our ward who is a little social butterfly. He knows everyone, and everyone knows him. He also posts EVERYTHING on facebook. So for the past few weeks he has been posting on facebook about these random love notes he has been getting, all of them anonymous. He even posted pictures of these notes, and he said that he was going to analyze the handwriting. He is taking it very seriously. The notes look like they were written by boys trying to be funny.

So anyways, back to our prank. We decided it would be funny to leave Jared a note along with the D.I. trophy. Since he has started analyzing handwriting we decided to cut all of the letters out of a magazine. We wrote 'Jared, you are the champion of our hearts!' and left it on his doorstep with the trophy. The good thing about this prank was that we knew that he would post about it on facebook and he did not fail us. Jaundice as we like to call him, always follows through.  Here is a picture of the note and the trophy before we dropped it off:

The next afternoon Jared posted this as his facebook status: "still doesn't know what to make of the weird note left on my doorstep this morning that reads "Jared, you are the champion of our hearts!" complete with a plastic award statue. See the picture I just posted for details."
He then posted this picture complete with this message: "Probably the weirdest thing I can find when I step out of my door to go to Church this morning."

We were pretty happy with ourselves at the turnout of this prank. But thats not where the fun ended on that Saturday night. Remember the cardboard I mentioned earlier? Well, we also found a way to put that to good use. We decided that we would cut the cardboard to size, and tape pieces together until it was the perfect size to block in a door! We picked an apartment of boys that we are friends with, and decided that they would be the lucky recipients of this prank! We measured our front door and went to work, building a door out of cardboard. The idea was that we would cover the boys front door with the cardboard, so that when they opened their front door in the morning all they would see is cardboard! We had to make a trip to Wal-Mart to get duct tape for this prank. We needed the duct tape to tape the pieces of cardboard together, and then to tape our new cardboard door to the door frame of their apartment. We ended up not getting enough duct tape and had to go back to Wal-Mart a second time, which wasn't very fun when it was freezing cold and 2 in the morning. But luckily, we got 450 tattoos for $4, so we had fun with those until it was time to finish our prank.

We waited until around 3:30 am to go outside with our cardboard door and tape it to their door frame. We wanted to make sure that everyone was asleep so that we wouldn't get caught. It was dark and quiet outside as we carried the huge piece of cardboard to the other building. It was hard to get it standing up straight in front of their door, it was a very tight fit. The cardboard scraping across the concrete was really loud. Using the duct tape was pretty loud too, and we were nervous that someone would hear us. But luckily, no one did. We got the cardboard all taped up and in place! Prank successful! Our roommate Clelia and her friends were still awake when we were done, so we asked her friend Misha if she would come take a picture of us by our work.
Here is their door all covered by the cardboard

Us in front of the cardboard door!

Two pranks in one night was really fun! Sadly we didn't hear how the boys reacted to the cardboard door. But we did find out that our friend Matty Patty cakes (who lives in that apt) could not sleep that night and was up until 3 in the morning trying to fall asleep.  Luckily, he has to have noise when he is trying to sleep so he had music on and the noise of us card boarding him into his apartment, whether he knew what that sound was or not.  Hopefully one day they will mention something about it!

But, our busy week doesn't end there. On Wednesday our friend Trevy left us a surprise at our doorstep. It was one of those huge, round, orange things that they use for construction. We knew immediately that we could do something fun with this. And it just happened to be Butterscotch's birthday on Thursday. We decided to wrap up the big orange roadblock and leave it on Butterscotch's doorstep as a birthday present!

Here is Butterscotch's birthday present all wrapped up and ready...

About an hour after we dropped this present off we both got a text message from Butterscotch that said 'haha!' so we are pretty sure he appreciated this gift. He said he is going to use it to save his parking spot when he leaves....and now we wish we would've kept it. But its our mission in life to make people happy, so we are glad that Butterscotch gets to enjoy this present.

Over all, it was a great week! We feel like we are finally back to our normal selves.

Flashback to December for a minute....

This is me and Jacqui's third year at Utah State, and also our third year being roommates. During our first year we started some traditions. One of the traditions that we started was to take Christmas pictures, and send out Christmas cards to all of our family and friends. This has been one of our favorite things to do, and we always start thinking of ideas of what we are going to wear starting in like September. We get pretty excited!

Our first year at Utah State our roommate Ali had a bunch of different Christmas themed hats. This is where we got our inspiration for our first Christmas photo shoot/Christmas card pictures. Jacqui was a reindeer, I (Lindsay) was a Christmas tree, our roommate Ali was an elf, and our roommate Lisa was Santa Claus.

Here our a few pictures to remember our first Christmas at USU:

For our second year we decided to wear ugly/cute Christmas sweaters for our Christmas card. We would have loved having our roommates in our Christmas card pictures again, but they never hung out with us and spent a lot of time in their rooms. So this time it was just us in the pictures. Well, and our pets...Smurfee and Tinny. And they actually turned out pretty great.

And now finally, this years Christmas card pictures. This year our apartment is like one big happy family. We are a pretty diverse group of people, and we think thats what makes it so fun! Our roommates agreed to take Christmas pictures with us. During the summer Suzy and I found a Christmas tree in the closet, so we decorated that. Jacqui and I decided that the theme for this years pictures should be good old fashioned pajamas. And by good old fashioned I mean that Jacqui and I were actually wearing onesies. I had forgotten what it was like to wear baby clothes until this night. And boy are they comfortable!

We still love Smurfee

This picture is the perfect note to end on. We thought it would be fun to decorate sugar cookies for Christmas, so I (Lindsay) found a yummy recipe online and made the dough. When it called for 7 1/2 cups of flour I should've realized I needed to cut the recipe in half. Instead, we made over 70 sugar cookies. Me and Jacqui decided that each roommate had to eat ten before bed. Some how, I think we did eat like all of these cookies!

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Peace, love, and confusion!
